The Next Step Up From a Basic Radio
The IC-F3021 series is a simple to use and versatile radio with a rich array of features. The compact light weight body has built-in features such as multiple signalings, a large capacity Lithium-Ion battery and extensive frequency coverage. This radio is both rugged and reliable and will certainly exceed your expectations with the quality of its performance and communication.
A lightweight and compact body
The compact* design of this radio with its rounded features will fit comfortably in the palm of your hand and its light-weight** body makes it optimal to carry around all day. The large buttons provide ample room for blind touch operation.
* 53(W)×120(H)×36.9(D) mm; 23/32× 423/32×17/16 in
** 296g; 10.4oz including BP-232N
Dust-protection and splash resistance
The IC-F3021 series provides protection against dust and is splash resistant (according to IP54 requirements). The aluminum chassis is the foundation for this radio’s rugged construction and allows for long-life usage in all types of environments.
128 memory channels and memory channel selection
The IC-F3021 series features 128 memory channels with 8 zones. Memory channel selection is easy with the up/down buttons that are located below the PTT button.
The most popular signaling are built-in
The built-in 2-Tone, 5-Tone, CTCSS and DTCS features can be used as standard to set up talk groups and provide quiet stand-by when others are talking.
Multiple 2-Tone, Multiple 5-Tone
Multiple 2-Tone and eight 5-Tone codes (up to ten) can be decoded on a channel. When matched tones are received, the following things can be programmed for each code:
- Beep sound
- Answer back
- Scan
- Bell icon
- Radio stun/kill
Lithium-Ion battery included
A 2000mAh Li-Ion battery pack, BP- 232N, is included with the radio and provides up to 15.5 hours* of use. Li-Ion batteries allow for flexible charging and have essentially no memory issues.
* Typical operation; Tx:Rx:Standby=5:5:90, power save on
The lone worker function
When the radio is not being used for a pre-determined amount of time it will sound a signaling you to push any button. After a pre-set amount of time, an emergency signal will automatically transmit to inform a co-worker that something may be wrong with the lone worker.
Mode dependent scan
With the mode dependent setting, the scan setting is dependent on the operating channel. When the operating channel is changed the scanning list then changes to the list that has been set for that channel. This feature is especially useful because the user can move to a different operating area and change the operating channel, without having to change the scanning setting.
MDC 1200 compatible
With the built-in MDC signaling, the following features are available:
- PTT ID (Tx/Rx)
- Radio check (Rx)
- Emergency (Tx/Rx)
- Stun/revive (Rx)
Optional board
The IC-F3021 comes standard with a 40-pin expansion socket which can be used for adding an optional board. Depending on the installed board, features include a voice scrambler which allows for secure conversation and a DTMF decoder which has has ANI (Automatic Number Identification) capability.
Optional VOX headset
The IC-F3021 series offers a hands-free operation capability when you purchase one of Icom’s optional headsets and a PTT/VOX unit.
